23 teams take part in three-day meet at Napa Valley College

NVST host for Father's Day Frenzy meet

The Napa Valley Swim Team recently hosted its long course Father’s Day Frenzy home swim meet. The meet was held June 19-21 at the Napa Valley College pool. Over 523 swimmers and 23 teams attended the three-day event.

In the girls 8-and-under division, Karenna Meyer, 8, broke two NVST team records and achieved 100 percent best times. Meyer set a new team record in the 200 freestyle (first place) and the 100 butterfly (first). She achieved new Pacific Reportable Times in the 50 breaststroke (second) and the 50 butterfly (first). She achieved new “A” times in the 50 free (first), 100 free (first) and the 50 back (second). Grace Wahle, 8, achieved 100 percent best times and a new “A” time in the 50 breast. Erin Dunn, 8, and Emily Dusky, 8, achieved 100 percent best times. This meet was 8-year-old Grace King and Jane McLoughlin’s first swim meet.

In the boys 8-and-under division, Nicholas Cisco, 8, achieved 100 percent best times and new “A” times in the 50 free (second), 100 free (first) and 50 back (third). Cisco placed second in the 50 breast and the 100 breast and swam to third-place finishes in the 100 back and 200 free. William Falini-Haas achieved 100 percent best times and swam to a new Pacific Reportable Time in the 50 backstroke, where he finished first. Haas achieved a new “A” time in the 50 free (third) and swam to a first-place finish in the 100 back, a second place finish in the 200 IM, and third-place finishes in the 100 free and 200 free. Robert Mitchell, 8, achieved 100 percent best times and achieved a new “A” time in the 50 free (second), 100 free (second), 50 back (second) and the 50 fly (second). Mitchell also swam to a first-place finish in the 200 IM, 100 fly and the 50 breast. Patrick Smorra, 8, achieved a new “A” time in the 50 back. Barrett McMichael, 7, achieved 100 percent best times and swam to a third-place finish in the 50 breast.

In the girls 9-10 division, Frida Garcia, 9, achieved 100 percent best times. Quinn Jensen, 9, achieved 100 percent best times and a new “A” time in the 50 back and the 100 back. Natalie Larsen, 9, achieved 100 percent best times. Celine Parra, 9, achieved 100 percent best times. Rebecca Reynolds, 9, achieved 100 percent best times and swam to new “A” times in the 50 back and 200 IM. Grace Murphy, 10, swam in her first meet for NVST and swam to a new Junior Olympic time in the 50 breast. Murphy also achieved new “A” times in the 50 free, 100 free, 50 back, 100 back, 100 breast and the 200 IM. Olivia Ha-Hoang, 10, achieved seven best times and a new Pacific Reportable Time in the 50 back (fifth). She swam to a new Far Western time in the 50 fly (fourth) and new Junior Olympic times in the 200 free (third), 100 fly (fifth) and the 200 IM (seventh). She also finished fifth in the 100 back, fifth in the 100 free and sixth in the 50 free. Maddie Perna, 10, swam to a new Pacific Reportable time in the 50 back (sixth), and new Junior Olympic times in the 50 fly (seventh), 100 fly (sixth) and 200 IM (fifth). Perna also achieved a new “A” time in the 50 breast and swam to a fourth-place finish in the 200 free and an eighth-place finish in the 100 free. Kathleen Schafle, 10, achieved 100 percent times and new “A” times in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 back and the 200 IM. She also achieved a new “B” time in the 50 back and swam to a sixth-place finish in the 100 breast. Nathalie Brewster, 10, achieved two best times and swam to a first-place finish in the 200 back and an eighth-place finish in the 50 free. Isabelle Calforda, 10, achieved 100 percent best times and new “A” times in the 100 free, 50 back (eighth); 100 back, 50 breast, 100 breast (fourth); 50 fly, 100 fly and 200 IM (eighth). Annika Jean Erickson, 10, achieved eight best times and new “A” times in the 100 breast and 200 IM. Erickson also achieved new “B” times in the 100 free, 50 back and the 100 breast. Hannah Smorra, 10, achieved 100 percent best times.

In the boys 9-10 division, Quinn McMichael, 9, achieved 100 percent best times and new “A” times in the 50 free, 100 free, 50 back, 100 back and the 200 IM. Cayd Roberts, 9, swam to a new “A” time in the 50 free and had second-place finishes in the 50 breast, 100 breast and the 200 IM.

In the girls 11-12 division, Mia Facey, 11, set a new NVST team record in the 200 butterfly, where she also placed first overall. Facey also achieved 100 percent best times and new Junior Olympic times in the 100 breast, 200 fly and 200 IM (third). Facey also finished second in the 100 fly, fourth in the 100 free and 50 free, fifth in the 50 fly and sixth in the 50 back. Megan Minor, 11, achieved a new Pacific Reportable Time in the 50 back (first) and new Far Western Times in the 200 back (first), 400 IM (first), 100 back (first), 100 fly (first) and the 50 free (second). Minor also swam to a first-place finish in the 50 fly and a second-place finish in the 200 IM. Rose Ballantine, 11, achieved a new Junior Olympic Time in the 200 breast (third) and a new “A” time in the 100 fly (sixth). Ballantine also swam to a fourth-place finish in the 400 IM, fifth-place finishes in the 200 IM, 100 breast and 50 breast, a sixth-place finish in the 50 free, and an eighth-place finish in the 100 free. Madi Anderson, 11, achieved seven best times and a new Junior Olympic time in the 50 back (fourth place). Anderson swam to sixth-place finishes in the 50 breast and 100 back. Isabella Corley, 11, achieved eight best times and swam to a new “A” time in the 200 back, where she also finished seventh overall. Alissa Meyer, 11, achieved seven best times and new “B” times in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 50 back, 200 breast and the 200 IM. Alex Swanson, 12, achieved a new Pacific Reportable Time in the 100 breast (first), a new Far Western time in the 50 free (first) and a new Junior Olympic time in the 50 fly (third). Swanson also swam to a first-place finish in the 50 breast and second-place finishes in the 50 back and 100 free. Emily Stephens, 12, achieved a new Junior Olympic time in the 50 free (fifth) and a new “A” time in the 400 IM (sixth). Stephens also swam to a third-place finish in the 200 free, a sixth-place finish in the 100 free and eighth-place finishes in the 100 back and 50 Fly. GiGi Gutterson, 12, achieved 100 percent best times and new “B” times in the 50 breast and the 100 breast. Shania Stagner, 12, achieved four best times and new “A” times in the 100 back and the 400 IM. Madeline Cline, 12, achieved three best times and new “A” times in the 200 IM and the 400 IM. Leigh Jensen, 12, achieved a best time in the 200 IM.

In the boys 11-12 division, Louis Ayers, 11, achieved 100 percent best times and swam to a new “A” time in the 100 fly (fifth). Ayers also swam to a sixth-place finish in the 100 back and a seventh-place finish in the 200 IM. Bradley John Erickson, 11, achieved a new “B” time in the 50 fly and swam to a fourth-place finish in the 400 IM, a sixth-place finish in the 50 breast and seventh-place finishes in the 100 breast and 100 fly. Andrei Astafyev, 11, achieved 100 percent best times. Jack Hebb, 11, achieved seven best times and a new “B” time in the 200 breast, where he also finished fourth overall. Miles McArdle, 12, achieved 100 percent best times and new Junior Olympic times in the 100 free (second), 100 back (fourth), 100 fly (second) and the 400 IM. McArdle also swam to second-place finishes in the 50 back and the 200 IM, and third-place finishes in the 200 free and 50 fly. Tyne Hanson-Jerrard, 12, achieved seven best times and new “A” times in the 50 free, 100 free and 50 back (sixth); 50 breast (fourth); 100 breast (fourth); and 200 breast (second). Jack Williamson, 12, achieved four best times and new “A” times in the 50 free and the 200 free. Williamson also swam to a new “B” time in the 50 fly. Daniel Richardson, 12, swam to eighth-place finishes in the 50 breast and the 200 IM.

In the girls 13-14 division, Haley Murphy, 13, swam in her first swim meet and achieved new “A” times in the 50 free and the 100 breast. She also achieved new “B” times in the 100 back, 100 breast and the 200 free. Brooke Quade, 13, swam in her first swim meet and achieved a new “B” time in the 50 free. Riley Hebb, 13, achieved four best times and a new “B” time in the 100 free. Chloe King, 13, achieved three best times and a new “B” time in the 100 breast. Joanna Haas, 13, achieved six best times and swam to a second-place finish in the 200 fly. Stephanie Lockett, 13, swam to six best times. Elise Roberts, 13, swam to a first-place finish in the 100 breast. Bridget McLoughlin, 14, achieved 100 percent best times and swam to new “A” times in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free and 100 back. McLoughlin also achieved new “B” times in the 100 breast, 100 fly and the 200 IM. Marcelina Zavala, 14, achieved 100 percent best times and swam to a first-place finish in the 200 back and second-place finishes in the 100 free and 100 back. Ximena Mendieta, 14, swam to a third-place finish in the 100 fly.

In the boys 13-14 division, Omar Saldivar, 13, achieved seven best times and new “B” times in the 100 free, 200 free, 100 fly and the 200 IM. Theo St. Francis, 14, achieved new Pacific Reportable Times in the 100 back (first) and 200 back (first). St. Francis also swam to a first-place finish in the 200 IM and second-place finishes in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free and 800 free. Nick Meyer, 14, achieved 100 percent best times and swam to a second-place finish in the 100 breast, 200 breast and 400 IM. Hayden Corley, 14, achieved 100 percent best times and swam to first-place finishes in the 100 breast, 200 breast and second-place finishes in the 200 back and 200 IM. Cody Dusky, 14, achieved five best times and a new “A” time in the 200 free and a new “B” time in the 100 fly.

In the girls 15-16 division, Megan Morris, 15, swam to first-place finishes in the 200 free, 800 free, 100 back, 100 fly and 400 IM, and a second-place finish in the 200 IM. Corinne Schafle, 16, swam to a second-place finish in the 800 free and third-place finishes in the 50 free and the 100 breast. Brittany Sicard, 16, swam to a first-place finish in the 100 breast and the 200 breast, and a third-place finish in the 200 back. Breanna Weber, 15, swam to a third-place finish in the 800 free.

In the boys 15-16 division, Sam Starr, 15, swam to a first-place finish in the 200 back, a second-place finish in the 100 back, and a third-place finish in the 200 free. McCoy Ayers, 16, swam to a first-place finish in the 200 free and third-place finishes in the 100 free and 800 free. Nicholas Kozlowski, 16, swam to a first-place finish in the 100 back and second-place finishes in the 200 back and 100 fly. Jesse Risinger, 16, swam to a first-place finish in the 800 free and 200 IM, a second-place finish in the 100 free, and a third-place finish in the 50 free.

In the girls 17-18 division, Chardonnay Biter-Mundt, 18, achieved a new Pacific Reportable Time and a first-place finish in the 800 free.

In the boys 17-18 division, Curtis Tinloy, 17, achieved 100 percent best times. He swam to first-place finishes in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 800 free, 100 breast, 200 breast and 400 IM. He also swam to a second-place finish in the 100 back.
