The Napa Valley Register Delievered to Your School
The Newspapers In Education (NIE) program was started by newspapers to encourage teachers to use newspapers in the classroom as an instructional tool. Newspapers provide a vital link between the classroom and the real world.
The goal of the NIE program is to provide teachers and parents with unique tools to teach and motivate students to learn. Moreover, the program aims to help to develop the student's ability to apply skills gleaned from the textbook to the newspaper. It makes learning fun with real-life activities.
The Napa Valley Register recognizes the sponsors that have helped bring newspapers and the NIE program to Napa. Sponsors receive recognition on the weekly Kid Scoop page in the newspaper and in promotional ads. Their support has allowed students to learn about environmental issues, math, advertising, budgeting, the stock market and more.
