The University of Phoenix Bay Area Campus announced that three teachers from the Bay Area will receive up to $500 worth of grant funding to utilize in their classrooms, funding for students that the district could not supply.
The program, “Teaching It Forward,” was awarded based on the candidate’s need for funding, registered within a school district, and a graduate from University of Phoenix.
Recipients include Mia Volpata Boon of First Christian School in Napa. Boon’s $500 grant will assist with one-on-one training with a dyslexia specialist and the purchase of hands-on math manipulatives and supplies.
