Napa Valley College is seeking applicants for two positions in the Viticulture and Winery Technology department, one to work in the teaching winery and the other to work in the student vineyard.
The jobs for instructional assistants are permanent and will involve 20 hours per week, 10 months per year.

Fein named White Rocket VP
White Rocket Wine Company announced the appointment of Aaron Fein as vice president of sales in the West.
Prior to joining White Rocket Wine Company, Fein managed nine western states for the North Lake Wines division of Constellation Wines U.S. He was also national sales director for Barefoot Cellars. During his tenure at Barefoot he helped the company evolve from fewer than 100,000 cases to nearly 1 million by building a team of 22 enthusiastic sales managers.
“My hope is to infuse new energy into the market with the White Rocket brands,” Fein said. “This is a great company, with a real eye towards the future of the wine market in America.”
Launched in 2006, White Rocket Wine Company focuses on developing brands targeted to the new wine consumers of the Millennial generation. The company markets three established brands: Camelot, Dog House and Tin Roof Cellars. White Rocket Wine Company is based at the Gateway Corporate Park in Napa.
VinOlivo in Sonoma
The Sonoma Valley Vintners & Growers Alliance host their annual fundraising event, VinOlivo, Feb. 17 as part of the Sonoma Valley Olive Festival.
This epicurean showcase is highlighted by the rare opportunity to taste and purchase future releases of Sonoma’s finest wines straight from the barrel. The list of participating Sonoma Valley wineries includes Benziger Family Winery, Blackstone Winery, B.R. Cohn Winery, Charles Creek Vineyard, Chateau St. Jean, Cline Cellars, Kunde Estate Winery & Vineyards, Moon Mountain Vineyard, Nicholson Ranch, Ravenswood Winery, St. Francis Winery and VJB Vineyards & Cellars.
Guests will sample foods from more than 20 of Sonoma Valley’s finest restaurants and caterers, taste local olives and olive oils and indulge in a Port & Chocolate Fondue Extravaganza.
VinOlivo will also include a silent auction featuring signed magnums and reserve case lots, and entertainment provided by Spanish guitarist Eric Symons.
