TOPS Club, Inc. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a powerful, nonprofit, non—commercial weight loss support organization with thousands of associate chapters in the United States and Canada.

Members (about 200,000 worldwide) learn about nutrition, portion control, food planning, exercise, and more, in weekly meetings. Weigh—ins, group feedback and support help members achieve their goals.

TOPS is the original weight loss organization and its international headquarters is located in Milwaukee, Wis. TOPS national dues are $$26 per year. Each chapter has a monthly dues of $$2 to $$5 depending on the size or needs of the chapter.

A local TOPS Chapter (TOPS #CA 1542) meets  Thursday mornings, 8:30—11 a.m., at Newells Mobile City Clubhouse, 4427 Solano Ave., in Napa.

Active Minds is an hour—long preschool experience that occurs weekly and includes circle time, art and sensory activities, cooperative play experiences, music and movement and much more with a focus on socialization and literacy. The Napa Valley Swim Team hosts Bingo on Thursday nights. Doors open at 4 p.m. Early games begin at 5:45 p.m. Bingo begins at 6:45. Buy—in with machine is $$35/Paper only is $$10. Most Bingos pay $$250 and Flash game pay $$250, $$500 and $$1,000. Bingo supports local nonprofit youth groups. Participants must be at least 18 to play. Free parking, free coffee and popcorn.

'Historical American Photographs & Vintage Framing Designs' are the subjects of an exhibition, beginning Oct. 30, at the Fastframe Gallery of Napa.

Featured is a collection of framed, black and white photographic images from the Library of Congress and original sources, beginning with the Civil War, through the Great Depression and World War II.

Also on display are vintage framing designs and frames, as well as examples of photo restoration of historical and family photos.

'Finally, something for the locals,' has been heard around the valley a lot this week. Over 30 downtown Napa merchants came together to reward local residents for rediscovering, shopping and dining in downtown Napa. Every week in November, 34 locations in downtown post six new Napa Valley addresses. If your address appears on the 'Lucky Locals' board in that location, you win! Prizes vary by location and include hundreds of dollars in gift certificates, meals, merchandise, wine and more.

There is no cost and no need to enter. If you live in the Napa Valley, you are eligible to win. Enjoy the treasure hunt, shop and dine downtown, and see if you are a 'Lucky Local.' Stop in to any of the participating merchants listed below, find the 'Lucky Locals' board and if your address is listed there, show ID and claim your prize. It's that easy. Visit weekly to increase your chances of winning.
