Downtown
Blues Festival
Nov. 7, 1-7 p.m.: Calistoga's
downtown becomes a veritable blues club with Chateau Montelena,
Dutch Henry Winery, Envy Winery, Grant Street Vineyards, Lava Vine
Vineyards, Silver Rose Cellars, Solovino Wines, Tristant Vineyards and
Twomey Cellars among the wineries offering wine accompaniments to the
riffs and licks of eight live blues bands. Music fills the streets
as visitors stroll from one end of town to the other, tasting some of
the valley's finest wine and listening to the sounds of bands such as
Levi Lloyd, Jimmy Smith, Herb Gibson, Beth Kohnen,Stan Ernhart,Tia
Carroll and Johnny Smith.
Blues in the Vineyards
Nov. 8, noon to 5 p.m: On Sunday, the music moves out to the
wineries for Blues in the Vineyards. Visitors can take a free shuttle
(the shuttle stop is at the Calistoga Chamber of Commerce at 1133 Washington Street)
to Dutch Henry Winery, Envy Winery, Lava Vine Vineyards, Madrigal
Vineyards and Silver Rose Cellars, to taste fine
wines while listening to hot blues bands, including Sugar G. Robinson, Bob Sims and Dennis Hubert, among others.
Ticket purchase
Saturday tickets are $25 per person (the 16 wine tastings provided with
this ticket can be shared by two people). The Sunday Passport is $35
per person and the Weekend
Pass is $50 per
person. Tickets can be purchased at the Calistoga Chamber of Commerce
office at 1133 Washington
Street.
