An extra point made the difference in Thursday’s game, as the Braves went for a two-point conversion in the second half and didn’t convert.

Redwood scored with six minutes left in the opening half and led 7-0 at the break.
Michael Caldwell’s 11-yard TD run brought the Braves (2-7, 0-4 MCAL) to within 7-6, and Justin lined up to kick the point-after for the tie.

The Giants were whistled for a penalty, moving Justin half the distance to the goal, and Braves coach Steve Meyer elected to go for the lead.
Redwood stuffed the attempt and held on for the win.

Marcus Armstrong-Brown managed a 50-yard kickoff return to start the second half for the Braves, while Caldwell finished as the club’s top ballcarrier with 43 yards on 11 rushes. Robert Reynoso caught three passes for 27 yards.
Defensively, Reynoso had an interception while Jake Brennan posted a sack.

Meyer said Austin Connolly, Phil Bartelt, Rich Blanchard and Landon Rosa also played well.
