Shoplifting arrest in American Canyon

A man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly shoplifting from Wal-Mart in American Canyon.

At about 7:45 p.m., a loss prevention officer at Wal-Mart spotted Lawrence James Lopez, 40, and a woman concealing items from the store, according to the American Canyon Police. He was booked on suspicion of petty theft with a prior and probation violation at the Napa County Department of Corrections. The woman was cited and released.
