Friday’s rescheduled varsity football game between Calistoga High and Round Valley (Covelo) has been deemed a forfeit win in Calistoga’s favor, Calistoga High athletic director Jake Blakeley and varsity football head coach Mike Ervin confirmed on Monday and Wednesday, respectively.

The junior varsity game is still slated for 5:30 p.m.
Round Valley does not have enough players for a varsity team.

The two teams were scheduled to meet at Covelo on Sept. 26.
The officiating crew, however, never showed up at the high school. Both teams held what amounted to a scrimmage, with coaches officiating the event.

The Wildcats are 4-5 with the victory.
Calistoga shut out Cristo Rey (Sacramento) 47-0 on Saturday as running back Joshua Monroy rushed for a school-record six touchdowns, breaking Ben Alfaro’s mark set in 1998.

Calistoga closes out its season Nov. 13 at Anderson Valley (Boonville).
