Adelaide Imboden
FAIRFIELD - Born Sept. 29, 1919, in Vallejo, Adelaide Grossherr Imboden passed away Nov. 1, 2009, after a long illness.
She attended Vallejo schools and a Napa secretarial school before going to work for her aunt and uncle, Hazel and Gilbert Foster, at Foster Lumber in Vallejo. In 1940, she married William Imboden, also of Vallejo, where they made their home until moving to Gordon Valley near Fairfield in 1942.
A lifelong artist, she was a member of the Vacaville Art League and the Vallejo Art League and a signature member of the Society of Western Artists. She also was a homemaker who loved to cook, garden, travel and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, William Imboden of Fairfield; son William Imboden of Gordon Valley; daughter Toni Harry of Napa; daughter Susan Imboden of Fairfield; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m., at Community United Methodist Church, 1875 Fairfield Ave., Fairfield, CA.
