NAPA - Fred Stafford, 82, passed away on Nov. 2, 2009. He was born in Chelsea, Mich., on July 28, 1926. He served in both World War II and the Korean War, and was a 40-year member of the American Legion. He was also a charter member of the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Fred married Betty Lou on Nov. 23, 1946. He was an owner/operator trucker and member of the Teamsters for 45 years. He enjoyed wood carving and was a member of the National Wood Carvers Association. He also was active in the Masonic Lodge for 53 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou, son James, sisters Marilyn and Evelyn, and brother Ramon. He was preceded in death by his twin daughters, Jean and Joan, and son Eugene.
