Redwood Credit Union gives to United Way
Redwood Credit Union recently completed its 2009 United Way campaign with a contribution of $77,894, exceeding its goal of $70,000 by more than 10 percent.
“With the challenges of today’s economy, I am truly awed by the generosity our employees and officials demonstrated during this year’s United Way campaign,” said RCU President and CEO Brett Martinez, who also volunteers on the board of directors for United Way of the Wine Country.
Redwood Credit Union participates in the United Way campaign each fall to raise funds for nonprofit organizations throughout the Bay Area.
This year, at the request of United Way, RCU ran its campaign a month early to act as a pacesetter for other local companies. RCU raised more than $73,000 for the United Way of the Wine Country — the credit union’s headquarters and where it has 10 branch offices — and over $4,700 for United Way of the Bay Area, serving Napa, Marin and San Francisco counties, where RCU also has several branch locations.
