Upvalley boys and girls soccer is represented across the board in the CIF North Coast Section Div. III playoffs.

For the Calistoga and St. Helena High boys and the St. Helena girls, reaching the postseason is a regular occurrence.
The Wildcats boys have been to the postseason every year since 2002 with three different head coaches — Jack McMahon, Arturo Mendoza and Carlos Garcia.

St. Helena’s boys have reached the postseason every year since Ozzie Gallegos has been the head coach, beginning in 2001.
Milton Gallegos took over the Saints girls program in 2001 and only once (2004) has St. Helena not reached the postseason.

For the Calistoga girls, who are coached by Stephanie Dietz in her second year, their trip to the playoffs is the first in school history.
Calistoga has fielded girls soccer since 1999.

As for the matchups, all four take place tonight.

On the girls side, St. Helena drew the No. 6 seed and will host No. 11 St. Bernard (Eureka) at 5 p.m. The winner visits No. 3 Middletown on Saturday.

Calistoga garnered the No. 9 seed and will visit fellow North Central League II foe No. 8 Rincon Valley Christian at 7 p.m.

The winner travels to face top-seeded Sonoma Academy Saturday.

For the boys, St. Helena drew the No. 15 seed and will host No. 2 Branson at 7 p.m., by virtue of St. Helena winning the North Central League I South title.

Calistoga, which drew the No. 4 seed, will host No. 13 Bentley at 7 p.m.
