Napa Valley College fifth in women's golf tourney

Napa Valley College shot a 421 total to finish fifth in the Big 8 Conference’s 10th and final tournament at Morgan Creek Golf and Country Club in Roseville last week.

Sacramento City won with a 329 and was followed by Modesto (331), Sierra (341), San Joaquin Delta (361), Napa Valley and Butte (457).
Kayla Riede of Sacramento was medalist with a 4-over-par 76.

Jackie Ang led the Storm with an 86, including a 39 on the back nine. Charelle Braden had an 89 and was followed by Carole Vandenberg (122), Priscilla Silvey (124) and Marge Miller (142).
Ang qualified for the Northern California Championships as an at-large player for the second year in a row. The NorCals are Nov. 9 and 10 at Butte Creek Country Club in Chico.

It’s a 33-player field.
