NAPA -- Jack Vincent Malack, 77, of Napa, passed away peacefully Oct. 26, 2009. He was born inChicago, Ill., on Jan. 31, 1932, to Benjamin and Anna (Barlick) Malack. He served his country honorably in the Marine Corps from 1951-1954. He graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a degree in industrial mechanical engineering. His professional career included participating on a design team with the Apollo Space Program. He retired from Mare Island Naval Shipyard after 21 years of service.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Angelita Malack; sons Robert (Marion) Malack of Virginia and Damon Malack; and daughter Patricia Malack.

Private services were held on Oct. 29.
