Jolene Melzark
CONCORD - Jolene Melzark, 79, died on Oct. 8, 2009, in Concord.
Born in Carmel, Jolene was a New Year’s Eve baby. With her parents and three brothers, she lived all over California as a child, including Fresno, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Berkeley, Palo Alto, Antioch and Santa Cruz. She was a 1948 graduate of Santa Cruz High School, where she played tennis and softball and was a cheerleader.
Jolene loved Santa Cruz and lived there for more than 25 years. She was a past president of Gault Elementary PTA and an active parent-volunteer for Harbor High School.
In 1973, she and her second husband, Don, moved to Napa. She worked at the downtown branch of World Savings for many years. She was a past president of the Napa Women’s Club and an active volunteer for Community Projects.
Jolene is survived by her husband, Don; her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, Cindy, Tom and Katie Silva of Walnut Creek; her son, David Eisley of Santa Cruz; her brother, Ralph E. Brogdon Jr. of Menlo Park; and her brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Lise Brogdon of Palm Springs.
