Napa Police officers arrested a Napa woman Monday for allegedly punching a man in the face.

At 6:57 p.m., officers responded to the report of a disturbance on the 2900 block of First Street.
A man told officers that he and Melissa Brooke Petrini, 25, were fighting and she punched him in the face. He suffered a cut to his lip and redness to his cheek, police said.

Officers arrested Petrini on suspicion of domestic battery and violation of probation and booked her at the Napa County Department of Corrections.

" Just a punch in the face ?
No emergency room ?
He suffered ?
Sound like something the DA would love to get his teeth into, hope the victim doesn't change his story, did the victim trip backwards and maybe he might of hurt himself, and maybe he thought it might of been her that caused the the little cut and redness near his jaw.

Good job Police ! this should be a easy one for the DA... "

" Mr. Mayor Of First Street. It sounds as if you are being both condescending and sarcastic about this story. Everyone jumps all over any male arrested for the very same charge and offers feelings of hope and best wishes to the battered party even relating such stories to those with grave endings. Now that a male was assaulted and the one arrested was a female the air is rife for jokes and ridicule. How about if my teenage niece who is all of a hundred pounds was to haul off and punch you in your mouth? Would you accept public statements made to belittle you or the system meant to punish her? I bet you'd bleed like a stuck pig and scream for all to hear how this vicious attacker must be made to suffer the full measures the law allows. Maybe I misunderstood your tone in your reply, but I doubt it. Any person who lashes out physically at another is someone who has deeper issues and needs to have those addressed. So I hope this young man does not back out. They undoubtedly will remain together and she needs to find a non physical release of anger. Any woman who strikes a man in anger would surely be able to strike a child in anger or despair. So get this young lady some help and young man a pat on the back for not retalliating. Just my2cents. " Just for my2cents info.

Dam rights I was being sarcastic, these Napa citizens have rights, and they have a life, it got out a little out of hand, now NVR with the police, DA, will take their cut out of the fines, lawyers, social workers, and payment to the court system, which they average about $1,200.00 per case alone, leaving the victim and aggressor with month;y payments. and bad memories about the one day things got out of hand.

The DA loves case's like this, it's money in their pocket, Oh thats only if it's not a Big
Man sticking a fist into the jaw of another
leaving a big impression, on the face and faces of the hurt, despaired, and angered that the "Public of Napa" is being used in anyway the DA permits to turn revenue. "

" first street: how about just prosecuting the gal for battery as she committed.you must be a fool to think that the DA is just in it for the money. They prosecute all law breakers, and the law breakers have to pay the price. "
