NAPA -- Nov. 17, 1916-Oct. 10, 2009 -- After several health setbacks, Melba C. Buccellato, her time well spent in this world, departed for her final destination: heaven.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the skilled nursing staff at The Meadows of Napa Valley for their loving care of our mother during the last weeks of her life.
Thanks also to Dr. Marshall Cooperson, Mom’s beloved doctor of many years.

Those who will miss her are her daughter, Patricia Ruiz (Ed), son Earl Taylor (Joanne), daughter Catherine Buccellato, and son Anthony Buccellato (Debra). Grandchildren are Steven Di Mercurio; David and Thomas Ries; Richard, Gregson and Michael Taylor; Kristen Jaeger; Mary Buccellato; Jamie Aviles; Andrea and Morgan Murrington; plus nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Donations to the American Lung Association, 115 Talbot Ave., Santa Rosa, CA 95404, would be appreciated.

" My deepest sympathies to Nonnie's family. Melba was a woman of strong character, gentle words, and unwavering faith in her family. She was kind, gentle, loving, and an incredible cook. Even into her 90's, she was beautiful. May her life serve as an example to us all. I know that she is finally with her "Sweetheart" again. "

" There are many kinds of Bonds with people in life, some seem important for a time or a season, but they fade for one reason or another. With my grandmother Nonnie it was a bond that started at birth for me and carried through my entire life. I have no regrets for she knew my love for her with out question and I hers. We are all blessed to have been a part of her days. She saw things in a clear prospective. She was strong!! Yet always put her family before herself, she had many talents, but good advise was a big one. Nonnie just know I listened and am doing what you said.
At 85 yrs. old she became a christian, a fact that gives all of us who believe a peace. I WILL see you again. SBD "
