The PGA Tour season resumes this week with the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas. As the second event in the PGA Tour Fall Series, it takes place at TPC Summerlin.
The field this week includes 11 players who have won in 2009 and 28 who have won since the start of the 2008 season. It also features four players who competed in last week’s Presidents Cup at Harding Park in San Francisco: Jim Furyk, Anthony Kim and Hunter Mahan from the victorious United States squad; and Tim Clark from the International team.
Also in the field is former Napa resident Scott McCarron, a Vintage High graduate, who hasn’t played in a Tour event since the Deutschke Bank Championship in early September. McCarron is 85th on the money leaders list. His best finish in 2009 is a tie for fourth at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. The first round is Thursday.
