Motorcyclist killed in crash

A motorcyclist died Sunday after he lost control and slid into an oncoming car on Steele Canyon Road north of Highway 128.

Cyril Tynes, 27, of Fairfield was headed southbound on Steel Canyon Road at 11:55 a.m. Sunday when the crash took place, CHP Officer Jaret Paulson said.

Tynes was unable to negotiate a curve and slid across the double yellow line, according to Paulson. His 2006 Honda motorcycle crashed into a 1992 pickup headed northbound.

The driver of the car, Lauren Jones, 24, of Napa, was not injured, according to Paulson.

Jones was wearing a seatbelt. Tynes was wearing a helmet.

Paulson said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
