Megan Jennifer Glynn, a Vintage High School graduate, class of 1998, received a master’s degree in dance from the University of California, Irvine on June 6, 2009. At UCI, she was a graduate teaching assistant in dance history and jazz technique. She also worked with the UCI opera and theater departments, choreographing numerous productions, taught at various dance studios in the styles of jazz, tap, hip-hop, musical theater and contemporary.

While in the Bay Area from 2002 to 2007, Megan worked with many theater/dance companies, choreographing musicals, plays, performing and creating new dance works. She most notably worked with Solano College Theatre, Missouri Street Theatre, Napa Valley Repertory Theatre, Napa Valley Shakespeare Festival, the Napa Valley Symphony, Darkroom Productions and the Lisa Clark Dancers.
Ms. Glynn began her training at a young age with Sandy Nugent at Napa Valley Dance Center and later performed with the Lisa Clark Dancers while enrolled in Solano College’s Actor Training Program.

In 2002, Megan earned her BA from Chapman University, in Orange, where she was a member of Pulse, a hip-hop company under the direction of Kari Jensen performing throughout Orange County. She also choreographed works for student concerts, performed in faculty shows working with esteemed faculty members Cyrus Parker-Jeanette, Jennifer Backhaus and Nancy Dickson-Lewis. Additionally, Glynn was a founding member of the Chapman Dance Alliance, a highly successful student-run program that supports all forms of performing arts. Megan developed her thesis under the tutelage of mentor/faculty advisor Dr. Donald McKayle, a world-renowned dancer, choreographer and professor. Her thesis concert, “Addiction,” is an original work that she wrote, directed and choreographed. The piece deals with education of drug and alcohol addiction through the use of dance and theatre arts. It premiered in May of 2009 and she plans to take it on tour. Earlier this spring, Glynn choreographed a world premiere play, “Eve’s Rapture,” written by Bryan Reynolds and directed by Robert Cohen. It is being performed at the Hayworth Theatre in Los Angeles.
Glynn is an Arty Award nominee in directing, choreography and sound design. In April 2009, a new dance work she choreographed, “A Tearful View,” was chosen to represent UCI at the California College Dance Invitational.

Glynn is relocating to San Francisco, where she will teach at two performing arts schools and choreograph for dance and theatre companies in the Bay Area.
Glynn is the daughter of Napa residents Michael Glynn and Wendy Camp.
