Cats!

This week, the Register published a note about the sighting of a mountain lion near Old Sonoma Road.

And I thought the dentist trip was bad ...

My son was so anxious to get into the preschool this morning that he skipped the front door and went to try to get into the playground gate. After I signed the kids in, I made my exit, but not before the requisite number of kisses and hugs. The kids knew that Momma was going to the tooth doctor.

Summer school misses its mark

Summer School

Not just a face in the crowd

A combination of old-fashioned police work, modern technology and the power of the media have brought us closer to solving a terrible mystery, as Napa County Sheriff’s detectives confirmed Wednesday they know the identity of a woman whose remains were found on a hillside near Monticello Dam.

Abortion and free speech

Dear editor, I am writing in response to Iris Barrie’s letter dated June 19 (“Demonstrators infringe on others rights”) and Kellie Miller’s letter dated June 23 (“Visual assault on Jefferson”).

I am retired from the Napa Sierra Club executive committee, but I still chair the political committee.

Road budgets explained

There was one big pothole on Highway 29 that I had driven over for years, I learned to look out for it every time I drove home, and there it would be. I could count on having to swerve around it. After a while I grew to like looking out for it, swerving on cue every time I went by.

My Fathers Day thoughts of my Dad

Everyone has a person who influenced their lives above all others. Just about everyone I know can identify someone who has been instrumental in making them the person that they are -- from the grandpa who taught him how to ride a bike, to the elderly neighbor who taught her how to make really good brownies. We all have someone who has been a constant source of support, a good shoulder to cry on, and an endless supply of good advice.
