Plus Obama went negative in the Rasmussen ‘core’ support…..first time in history a President went negative before end of his first year in office…

This Approval index thing has been posted 5 times or so. Funny no one has ever mentioned it as being significant until Drudge dug up something he could spin. Next... "

Most conservatives don't agree with the "New Age Republicans" Ideology either. That's why we call ourselves "conservatives" and not "Republicans". "

But since I'm here, I just want to say how much I love the Autobahn. Everyone knows they're supposed to stay to the right, unless they're passing, and let those in the fast lane zoom by. There's no need to thread the needle, tailgate, honk, bogard the merge, or pass on the right. And there's no road rage, as far as I can see. People seem to respect the rules and other drivers. They're courteous to other drivers. Imagine that. And though I'd never do it myself, and don't advocate it as a US policy, it's kind of a thrill when three cars in a row scream by at well over 100 mph while I'm tooling along at about 80. "

I'm glad you understand that because I (and probably most people) translated that as "Well America likes our politicians better than your politicians". But that's just how I saw it... "

you mean the one that will cost $80k, plug into a wall, with no power coming out of the outlet??? "

I rarely post political stuff here but advancing technology posts belong here since they are not inherently political rants.
I view owning a car that can be charged from your roof as something that would be a great improvement to the standard of living in our lovely valley.
I live a couple of blocks from Brown's Valley Road but I can hear dino-cars going by.
You can only hear the wind in the trees and birds twitter when it's quiet and dinosaur cars are anything but quiet.

...on second thought, maybe she didn't...
Bogart:
1969, "to keep a joint in your mouth," dangling from the lip like Humphrey Bogart's cigarette in the old movies, instead of passing it on. First attested in "Easy Rider." The word was also used 1960s with notions of "get something by intimidation, be a tough guy."

I can see hundreds of thousands of people putting solar panels on their roofs to charge their otherwise useless car, since California's electric grid would collapse immediately under the weight of a significant number of electric cars plugged in. We can't even handle a hot day here, thanks to those who will not allow atomic energy in our powerplants.
Battery technology limits electric car ranges to about 80 miles (that's round trip not each way) and if you turn on lights, wipers, radio, air conditioning you will shorten that range significantly.
Then ruff, we must talk about the toxic environmental cost of batteries, I know you don't because you know you can't win. There is a high cost to manufacture and a high cost to recycle, even then not all toxic elements can be recycled and must be disposed of. This is environmental responsibility?
Then the climate change folks will chime in with the idea that all these solar panels are heating up the air with their reflections. So that's not going to work the way you want it to.
Electric cars are not an answer. They weren't a hundred years ago and they are not today. You would be better off promoting Stanley Steamers, at least the steam becomes water vapor.
Instead of government meddling in the car business, we should be investing in our technical development of other powerplant alternatives.
Chasing the chimera of electric cars is a waste of our resources. Time to honestly debate the issue, not just recycle the same old platitudes.
I'm looking way past electric cars. I'm working on a version of one of Dr. Brown's flux capacitors. "

I knew I wasn't that far off. Just spelled it wrong. Seems to describe perfectly what some people do when cars are supposed to merge -- push up against the car in front of you, refuse to leave a space, dangle that bumper in your front grill and refuse to let go so someone else can get in.
Ya dig? "

In one video, Shai Agassi actually describes people who watch the battery exchange machine change batteries in under a minute without getting out of your car (much more convenient that a self-serve gas station) and say it won't work.
But it does work.
Even when some folks deny what you can see with your own eyes.
There's already a guy in Vacaville who has been driving a plug-in modified hybrid car he charges from his roof.
There's already a friend of mine who produces more electricity with 1/8th of his homes roof in solar than he uses in a year.
So the question come to mind.
How long are you going to deny reality?
I'm curious.
I've often found that when you can see it with your own eyes, it might just work.
