Dear editor, This letter is regarding Iris Barrie’s June 19 (“Demonstrators infringe on others rights” June 19) and Kellie Miller’s (“Visual assault on Jefferson Street,” June 22)  letters about demonstrators and the visual assault on Jefferson Street.

Bravo! Finally, women are speaking out against the oppression this man in front of the Planned Parenthood clinic represents. It’s gone from being creepy to being scary in light of the latest doctor’s murder back east.
We have been subjected to this intimidation long enough.

" Yaaay. No more free speech!
It's about time we fight back against the free exercise of constitutional rights. Thanks for taking a stand. "

" Change the parking spots to loading zones.

Video tape any monkey business and demand prosecution.

As long as they obey the law, they have a right to be there and help raise money for Planned Parenthood.

" If he harasses someone...why isn't it reported? Video tape is so easy. Why doesn't Planned Parenthood document this person's actions?
He better not be accosting minors. "

" Funny thing about the law is that harassment is in the eye of the person under attack. If the person FEELS bothered, scared, intimidated, or threatened in any way then the law defines that as harassment. From what I understand, this person and others follow clients of the clinic up the sidewalk, to the door, "talking" the entire time. There are absolutely young women who have felt threatened.

So my question would be: how is it that the behavior of the demonstrators is not considered trespassing? It's one thing to protest on a public avenue, however annoying. It's another to stalk a client up to the door of a business. "

" Perhaps if enough people walked by, were harrassed, called the police, filed complaints....

Some communities have adopted a program called "Pledge a Picket" where supporters of Planned Parenthood have pledged to donate a dollar for every picketer who shows up on any given day. While Planned Parenthood is already well funded, the "Pledge a Picket" program has raised as much as $100,000 for a PP on the east coast. It seems the "right to life" protesters don't appreciate being part of this revenue generating program for Planned Parenthood. "

I find gay rights and parades offensive, particularly when the single out employers….but they have a right as long as they stay out of my face to do whatever they well please…. "

Yeah, that would be the preferred option. But, it's not a matter of "figuring it out". Unless, of course, you boys haven't "figured out" what your appendage's role is in this process. "
