Domestic violence arrest in AmCan

An American Canyon man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence Tuesday after getting into an argument with his wife, according to police.

Officers responded to a call of a family disturbance in the 500 block of Marbella Court at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, American Canyon Police Sgt. Craig Nickles said.

Vincent Frederick Carter was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence after police say his wife accused him of assaulting her. The woman refused medical treatment for bruising, police said.

The woman said Carter "struck her and tried to gouge her eyes out," Nickles said.

Carter, 37, was booked at the Napa County Jail, according to police.
