NAPA - Marguerite Elizabeth Grice entered eternal life on June 11, 2009. She was born in Richmond on Aug. 27, 1914, to James and Elizabeth Stewart Russell. Mother was the matriarch of the family, surviving her parents and four brothers: George, Charles, Jack and James Russell.

Marguerite attended schools in Richmond, graduating from Richmond Union High School in 1932. She attended and graduated from San Francisco State College in 1937, earning a degree in primary education. She married Robert Lewis Grice on June 22, 1935, and they were married for 51 wonderful years until Robert’s death in 1986.
Marguerite taught in the Napa School District at Mount George and Shearer schools for 18 years. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed her wonderful family and couldn’t wait for the family reunion held yearly. The smiles of her family and many friends were her love. As a member of the Retired Teachers, Napa Emblem Club, Napa Valley Doll Club, Silver Spray Chapter of Eastern Star, and Napa Presbyterian Church, many fun luncheons and trips kept her life exciting for her 94 years here on this earth.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Grice. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Betty) Lindblom of Reno, Nev.; son, R. Lee Grice (Donna) of Napa; grandchildren, Becky Paulson of Phoenix, Ariz., Ronald Lee Lusk of Reno, Nev., Christina (Tina) Negrete of Fresno, Leeann Morikone (Ken) and Steven Grice (Amanda) of Napa; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Tyler, Zak, Nikko and Cody; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Russell (with a special bond of love and caring for Mother) of Napa.
The family would like to extend our gratitude to all the nurses and staff at Piner’s Nursing Home and Hospice of Napa Valley who made this journey full of smiles, laughter, grace and peace.

Because of her faith in her Lord, we know that she is in heaven with her loved ones and enjoying eternal life. While she has departed from this earth, she leaves family and friends with memories that will never die. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate Marguerite’s life will be held at a later date with family.

Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.treadwayandwiggerfuneralchapel.com.
