Enough Palin attacks already

Dear editor, I would like to ask why everyone is always dogging Sarah Palin? I mean, she isn’t our president or vice president. So why do you always have to print mean things about her or what she does that is wrong? I am a Republican and I just ask why. So what if she was not a good speaker? President Bush wasn’t. I just don’t see why you have to always talk bad or down about her.

" The Dems attacks on Governor Palin can have only one explanation: they are terrified of her and feel the need to villify her at every opportunity.

During the last election they saw the way she was able to connect to Conservative and energize huge crowds of motivated voters. There is no other Republican on the horizon who can do this as well as her.

B.O.'s past campaign tactics are to not just defeat his opponents but to eliminate them. With the state run media on his side, he can't help himself... "

She has successfully fought off every phony charge triumphed up by Obama’s Brown shirts….and she keeps coming back.

Tell me one lib in this country with anywhere near such bipartisan support? "

" The hypocritical liberals are afraid of Sarah because she's a successful woman that appeals to conservatives & libertarians.

You see, "choice" means you can only choose to abort.

Her resume included actual accomplishments (unlike BO).

She's fiscally responsible, which is an absolute no-no to progressives.

She takes a stand on issues & sticks by her principles.

She's an American first, & enjoys American heritages such as hunting.

Sarah doesn't tow the climate change line (or whatever they call it this week).

She also believes in smaller, less intrusive government rather than the socialist direction in which we are headed today.

Bottom line is, she's very close to the total package when it comes to conservative values & the statists are afraid that she will get the traction to be elected president.

The viciousness of the attacks on her is beyond contempt. "

" The 'attacks' on Sarah Palin since the failure of the McCain/Palin ticket have been comedians making jokes.

The life of Republican politicians is a fertile field for jokes because of the hypocrisy, intentional or not.

In the specific case of the Palin family is that they preach 'family values' and use their family as an example of an 'All American Family' yet they fall far short of living up to what they espouse. That pretty much makes them the natural butt of jokes.

Jokes write themselves when some woman who has a kid from having sex outside of marriage becomes a spokesperson for 'abstinence' after first saying it doesn't work.

It seems Republicans don't like to have people laughing at 'Promise Keepers' who jet off to Argentina to have an affair outside of their marriage vows.

However, comedians LOVE having Republicans write their jokes for them.

If Republicans quit the pretense of being the party of telling other people how to live, they would be the butt of far less comedy.

But as long as Republicans write the jokes for comedians it's not going to stop.

" Makaila: Palin was not prepared for the lime light. She was smart enough to have said "no" but not smart enough to say "yes." The republicans were desperate and they saw Palin as their last desperate hope. The choice of Palin was a boondoggle from the start. Because she cannot perform or speak intelligently on the big stage of politics she has become defensive (not a position to remain in, as she has, in politics) and she has become the laughing stock of the republican party. Now, even most republicans are distancing themselves from her. "

Four years is not enough time to get her image rehabilitated, even if David Letterman never told another joke about her. (But of course, he would... better, deadlier jokes, just not about her daughters.)

But at the outset, I saying I'd be most happy to be wrong, because 'Barry' would find Palin to be very easy to beat. And the candidate that Democrats would have a tough time beating is busy in Afghanistan.

I'm thinking the top of the Republican ticket will be Gen. Petraeus with a little known VP choice acceptable to the 'Christian Right'.

The Christian Right will realize (after the 2010 whupping) that 'stealth' candidates like Sarah Palin will not be able to 'come out' until after they get into high office, and 'dog whistle' calls to constituencies will be ferreted out and publicized.

Many Americans (even people of faith) are tired of hypocrites in Washington getting all prayerful every two years and shafting everybody (including people of faith) for corporate lobbyist cash the rest of the time.

Of course, the torture-enthusiasts in the Republican party would have to get over Petraeus rejection of torture as useful and beneficial to American interests.

So now you know the really scary Republican candidate, especially if Petraeus comes up with something that can be called a 'win' in Afghanistan.

Since I don't want Republicans in their current incarnation to win for the rest of my lifetime (and I love good jokes at hypocrite's expense) please Lord let the Republicans run Sarah Palin again!!!

I wanna lose my bet!

For a young, single, woman to find herself pregnant, living under her mother’s imperatives, being scrutinized by the moral outcry of the nation and months later being judged a “failure” for not practicing abstinence is not a enviable position.
