Napa falls to host in tourney

Bud Accardo (1) is greeted after scoring a run Wednesday in the Napa Legion 19’s 7-5 loss to the host Reno Knights in Reno, Nev. Josh Cariela (2), Quin Stanier (17) and Ben Ballantine meet Accardo. The Napa squad begins action today in the 21st annual Sierra Nevada Classic Tournament in Reno. Napa plays the Chaffey Baseball Club today, then takes on the Reno Knights again on Friday at William Peccole Field at the University of Nevada. The tournament, which runs through Sunday, features top teams from California, Washington, Idaho and Nevada. 

Napa Christian site for youth hoops camp

The Pyramid Basketball Camp will be held at Napa Christian June 29-July 3.

Area track stars to vie for U.S. titles

The Napa Track Club’s Tatum Souza and Dominic Giovannoni are set to compete at the 2009 Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., beginning today at Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus.
