Hoops keep Vintage boss busy

Scott Thom won’t be taking a vacation this summer. He’s putting most of his time and energy into basketball.

It’s title time for Harley’s

Harley’s Waterproofing defeated Fairfield Bats, 4-2, to win the Area 53 Little League Tournament of Champions in action at Garfield Park. The victory capped a 5-0 run in the tournament. Harley’s finished 15-1 in the regular season record and 21-3 overall. The team was made up of Kyle Sager, Nolan Brown, Ezyrah Villanueva, Adam Phillips, Mario Llamas, Aric Cortez, Jordan Abernathy, Blake Jacques, Justin Harp, Jose Gonzalez, Bennett Shaw and Talia Rizzo. The team was led by manager Dennis Cooney and assistant coaches Jose Cortez and Robert Jacques.

Napa Community Bank claims Majors Division crown

Napa Community Bank recently wrapped up the 2009 Napa Little League Majors Division title.

Napa United snares title

Napa United, the Under-13 Division I boys soccer team, won its second consecutive Norcal Premier League title on Saturday.

The Napa Sheriffs-Matt Salsman Insurance Joe DiMaggio League baseball team swept a three-game series from the St. Helena Masons over the weekend

R&L/Coleman romps

Ethan Speizer had three hits, including a home run, with two RBIs to lift Raneri & Long/Coleman Insurance to a series sweep of the Vallejo Spartans in DiMaggio League play on Sunday. John Roscoe had two hits and an RBI. Jake Dunkle singled. Austin Barlow was the winning pitcher.

Coleman Insurance beat Foster’s 5-3 in Napa Valley Fastpitch Softball Association play on Monday. Mariah Gelista had four hits, with a double. Kaitlyn Lewis went 2-for-4 with a triple. Kasey Van Camp and Catelyn Blanc had two hits each for Fosters.
