The Human Draw-In

You don’t have to draw to be part of the Nest’s Human Draw-In Saturday. More than 60 artists will be working on masterpieces, and their completed works will be for sale for $50 each.

ZuZu and Trader Joe’s are donating snacks and beverages, and Napa Valley Art Supplies is helping out with materials.

Live music will be provided by Five Cent Coffee and friends. Proceeds from the event benefit Brown Street Gallery, an art-focused day program of Napa Valley Support Services and the Nest Egg grant, awarded annually to local artists to support their work and living expenses.

The event takes place from 6-10 p.m., at the Brown Street Gallery, 2225 Brown St., Napa.

Suggested donation is $5.

Beginning July 2, the Nest launches “Easy Peasy Projects at the Craft Pad — the New Nest 1144 Main St. — during Thursday Chefs’ Market, 6-8 p.m.

For a $5 fee, you can build simple craft skills and leave with your own creation.

The themes are:

July 2: Independence Day Decorations (pimp your pride)

July 9: Jersey Jewels (T-shirts into necklaces)

July 16: Born Again Banners (vinyl sketchbooks)

July 23: I Want Candy Box Bags (DIY purse)

July 30: Crochet Crazy (beyond the knit cap)

During regular Nest hours (Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) the Craft Pad is an open studio, where folks can hang out, use the donated supplies and sewing machines and explore new techniques.
