Lucy Koenig

Lucy Avis Koenig, 87, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2009, after a long illness. She was born June 7, 1922, in Maryland, to John and Elsie Tysor.

Daniel Krainert

Daniel “Dan” Krainert, 46, passed away at Queen of the Valley Medical Center on June 16, 2009. Dan was born in Vallejo on July 3, 1962, to George and Elizabeth (Libby) Krainert.

Roberta Hunter

1918-2009

Jesus Chavez

Surrounded by family, Jesus O. Chavez passed away peacefully two days after his 92nd birthday on June 16, 2009. He was born June 14, 1917, in San Pedro, Guanajuato, Mexico. By the mid-1920s, in order to escape oppression, his family relocated to El Capricho, Michoacan, Mexico, where he married his wife of 70 years, Elena Chavez Calderon, and raised their 11 children. In the mid-1950s, he traveled to the U.S. under the Bracero Program, and in the 1970s he and his family immigrated to the United States and settled in the Napa Valley.

George Thompson

George Vail Thompson, resident of Napa for 30 years, passed away suddenly at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek on June 17, 2009. Born in 1940 in Mentor-on-Lake, Ohio, he grew up in Painesville, Ohio, graduating from Harvey Nigh School in 1958. He spent 21 years in the U.S. Navy, rising to the rank of master chief petty officer in the Naval Security group.

Allyn Nelson

Allyn Eugene Nelson died of a stroke on June 16, 2009. He was affectionately known as Nels, Gene or Allyn. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, father-in-law, friend, fellow Lodge member, and business associate to many throughout Napa for the last 50 years.
