The Vintage High baseball team had another potential win over Vacaville in its grasp, taking a one-run lead into the seventh inning before the Bulldogs pulled out a comeback win.

Prep Baseball: Fairfield 4, Napa 3 (8 innings)

Senior pitcher Steven Nagy absorbed his first loss of the season for the Indians, allowing four runs — one earned — on five hits, no walks and eight strikeouts in 71⁄3 innings on Thursday in Fairfield.

Prep Boys Tennis: Vintage 6, Napa 3

The Crushers won four singles matches and two in doubles to capture Thursday’s Big Game match over the visiting Indians.

College Baseball: Contra Costa 3, Napa Valley 1

Michael Andrews, making his second start of the season, pitched 62⁄3 innings of seven-hit ball but didn’t get enough run support as the Storm fell to 12-9 in Bay Valley Conference play on Thursday.

Varsity Girls Soccer: Trinity Prep 4, Millennium 1

The visiting Crusaders broke a scoreless tie a minute into the second half of Thursday’s game in Tracy, when Barbara Bakh scored off an assist by Mary Kate Bakh. Millenium tied it back up nine minutes later.

Prep Badminton: Wood 15, Napa 1

Susha Sukova and Annmarie Walsh picked up the Indians’ win in Wednesday’s home match, defeating Tenzin Norzam and Diana Wei at No. 1 doubles, 21-18, 21-23, 21-18.

Prep Boys Golf: Napa 203, Vacaville 210

The Indians’ Max Alvarez, Craig Kaemmer and Zack Risley shared medalist honors with 4-over-par 40s as Napa prevailed in the MEL match at Green Tree Golf Club in Vacaville on Thursday.

JV Baseball: Napa 13, Rodriguez 6

Evan Zimny threw six strong innings for the win, allowing three earned runs on six hits, three walks and six strikeouts Wednesday as the Indians (9-7 overall) began play in the Cuckovich Classic tournament at Will C. Wood.
