Go ahead, say something is not perfect

People today, in the U.S. especially, have had their lives shaped so thoroughly by society's views of their opinions, that they no longer have a mind of their own, but rather a replica of what is deemed acceptable by the people around them... especially the media.

Napa's Tea Party

No wonder liberals hold so many protests... They are FUN!!!

Close-knit community

We are all creatures of our immediate surroundings, perhaps more than we know.

Government, get out of my garage

Are you aware of Napa Municipal Code Zoning Ordinance Code Section 17.54.040(A) regarding on-site covered parking? If you’re not, let me explain how I came to learn of this code.

Restoring trust at Berryessa

Last week’s Register editorial board meeting regarding Lake Berryessa was eye-opening in that so many factors have contributed to the current crisis, in which several lakeside resorts promise to be closed again this year while, if we are lucky, others will limp to life in time to salvage the summer recreational season.

Plenty of good water at Napa Pipe

Dear editor, In regards to the March 30 comment from George Henke in response to my March 17 letter pertaining to water at Napa Pipe (“The water at Napa Pipe”), imagine my surprise at his assertion that I didn’t work at Kaiser Steel, given my 17 years with the company, eight of which were spent in Napa.

Respite for families at local inns

Dear editor, On April 17, 18 and 19, Adult Day Services will be hosting our 10th annual Alzheimer’s Respite Weekend. Each year, we provide a weekend of free respite for caregivers. The camp allows for pepole who are living with the diagnoses to participate in 48 hours of activities that have been designed specifically for their success and to provide the caregivers with a much-needed break.

Stop the gun violence

Dear editor, An epidemic of handgun murders and suicides is happening in our country. Obtaining firearms is legal. However, our Constitution was written at a time when one’s needs were different than today, and so were the firearms.

Has California finally hit the wall?

In a recent interview with Jason Clemens, Economist and Director of Research for the Pacific Research Institute, he explained that California’s budget problems are not really about taxes or the costs of illegal immigration. PRI is near completion of a large detailed study on California’s prosperity, or the lack thereof, and one of the main conclusions is that the state is broke because the economy is deteriorating and has been for some time.

When are kids 'too old' for Easter baskets?

At what point do you change up from Easter egg hunts and Easter baskets for your children?
