The damage that something like this causes to worthy charitable causes is severe. It's no small thing whatsoever. This just adds to an ever-increasing level of skepticism by donors, and who can blame them. Thanks ma'm. "

Your concern is valid; however, the head of the firefighters' association (which had raised thousands for this lady) said that this incident will not stop them from helping other people. Good for them! Napa has always been a generous community. "

This woman is not violent. It seems that her only crime is that she outsmarted the police and that's why they want her locked up. "

I think it's that the community has been so outraged and law enforcement /NFD feeling so angry and betrayed, that the judge probably wants to full-out throw the book at her.
I've known this woman for many years and she is not evil, nor would she ever physically or consciously harm anyone. This came as such a shock to her family and friends because she has always been so kind and so filled with life and love - and SO devoted to her daughter.
Of course her daughter is such a victim in this & despite what everyone may think, she loves her dearly. Dannille has a mental issue going on and she knows that - and is very, very perplexed by it. And she knows that she will make restitution - just like anyone else who has committed a crime (assuming she is convicted, which of course, is likely.) She WANTS to make restitution. And she wants to get to the bottom of why she did this.
I agree, also, that facts should have been substantiated - most especially by the fund raisers - as kind and wonderful and generous as they've been. Perhaps this will become a policy now.
I so praise this generous community - all who gave of their money, time, leave and donations. It's a painful thing to have your trust in someone violated. And it takes great strength and courage to try to understand that there is some reason - albeit mental or emotional, behind it all. Either way, she will pay her dues. "

however she still deserves to be punished for the crime that she has done. My heartfelt thoughts go out to her daughter who deserves none of this. How any mother could let their child think that they were going to die is inexcusable. "
