A survey of conditions for vineyard workers in the Napa Valley shows they are paid better and earn more benefits than agricultural workers elsewhere in the state, according to a UC Davis professor.

A group of Harvest Middle School students got a glimpse into the workings of Napa’s judicial system Friday morning, as they visited Napa’s historic Courthouse on Brown Street to participate in a mock trial.

Napa High School students say they rarely see drugs on campus, and that only a small minority show up under the influence.

Students using drugs and showing up for school under the influence are a major concern for school officials, parents and law enforcement agencies. But Napa County middle and high school students have many resources available to help stay off drugs, get off drugs or get back on track after acknowledging their troubles.

A small plane crashed Sunday as it approached the airport in Butte, Montana, killing 14 to 17 people aboard, a federal official said.
