Anthony Kersting pitched four innings, allowing two first-inning runs and no walks, and left with a 3-2 lead that the Crusaders didn’t protect in Thursday’s nonleague loss at Borman Field in Yountville.

Kevin Haugen led the Braves (5-2 overall, 4-2 MCAL) for the second straight match with a 39 in Thursday’s home win on Silverado Resort’s South Course.

Tyler Beirle and Max Alvarez were co-medalists with 40s in Thursday’s MEL match.

In Thursday’s MEL match at Rancho Solano in Fairfield, the Crushers were led by co-medalist Brandon Duncan (37), Drew Barlow (40), Alex Peterson and Grant Wood (44s), and Michael Butler (45). Chris Ramos had a non-scoring 47.

JV Boys Track and Field: Vintage 78, Wood 49

The Crushers won 11 of the 15 events Wednesday, with Brady Bickham (1600, 800, 3200), Kyle Fiztpatrick (110 and 300 hurdles) and Gustav Boyd (100, 200, 4X400) winning multiple events.

Infineon Raceway, BASHOF help N. Vallejo Little League bounce back from robbery

Infineon Raceway and the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame presented nearly $10,000 to the North Vallejo Little League Thursday to help the league recover from a burglary last week.

Varsity Boys Track and Field: Vintage 64, Wood 63

Kevin Brohaugh (110 and 300 hurdles), Rudy Reyes (100, 200) and Andrew Deck (1600, 400, 800) won multiple individual events and teamed on a 4x400 relay win on Wednesday.

Varsity Boys Tennis: Justin-Siena 6, Terra Linda 3

Andrew Kelley (6-0, 6-2), Justyn Thomas (6-3, 6-2) and Matt Andre (6-3, 6-7, 10-2) won the top three singles matches, respectively, to help the Braves improve to 4-2 in Marin County Athletic League action on Thursday.

JV Girls Track and Field: Napa 53, Armijo 30

Highlighting the Indians’ MEL road victory on Wednesday were Nicole Guffy, who won the triple and high jumps; Mariana Zavala, who proved herself in a new event with a win in the 800; and Kelsey Vandershoot, who won in her first try at the 400 and added runner-up finishes in the 200 and triple jump.

JV Girls Soccer: Napa 3, Wood 0

Rebecca Steen scored in the sixth minute on a Bryce Franco assist for a 1-0 lead in Thursday’s MEL home win at the Raiders field.

Varsity Girls Track and Field: Napa 75, Armijo 56

Megan Kostecka, Christina Fonville, Alejandra Noriega and anchor Rylie McGill got the Indians started on a winning note in Wednesday’s Monticello Empire League dual meet in Fairfield with a victory in the 4x100 relay.

Varsity Girls Track and Field: Wood 81, Vintage 20

Kelsey Zeller won the 400 and took second in the 200 to lead the short-handed Crushers in Wednesday’s loss. Alex Schafle won the high jump, and Anna Commande took second in the shot put and discus.

Varsity Boys Track and Field: Napa 79, Armijo 58

Cody Johnson, Zack Scheinholz, Tyler Hansell and anchor Eric Frost set the tone for the Indians’ victory in Wednesday’s MEL road meet with a win in the 4x100 relay. Frost would add victories in the 100 (11.58) and 200 (23.36), both into a headwind.

JV Girls Track and Field: Wood 47, Vintage 40

Danika Schmidt (400, all three jumps) and Kathleen Deck (1600, 800) were the Crushers’ multiple-event winners Wednesday. Alana Griffin (400, 200, and LJ) placed in all of her events.

JV Boys Track and Field: Napa 70, Armijo 65

Thinus Venter notched victories in the 1600 (5:09.98) and 3200 as the Indians won Wednesday’s MEL road meet.

Bryce Lombardi pitched 41⁄3 innings of two-hit ball, walking three, allowing five runs (one earned) and striking out eight to get the win in Tuesday’s MEL road win. Evan Zimny threw the final 22⁄3 innings, striking out six.  

Varsity Girls Soccer: Justin-Siena 1, San Rafael 0

Caroline Zaia scored as the Braves picked up their first MCAL win of the season at home Thursday night.

Varsity Baseball: Napa 9, Wood 0

Steven Nagy pitched seven shutout innings, allowing four hits and no walks with eight strikeouts, as the Indians (7-4 overall, 2-1 MEL) won Thursday in Vacaville. Nagy helped his cause with a hit, two stolen bases and four runs scored.

Doug Lindsey of American Canyon caught this 391⁄4-inch, 23-pound striped bass on an outing near the Vallejo Yacht Club. It’s the largest bass he has caught.
