Indians grapple in Clovis
The Napa High School wrestling team competed in the 13th Annual “The Bash” at Clovis East High School in Fresno, where 65 teams grappled in the two-day tournament.
The Indians, who entered nine wrestlers in the tourney, placed four in the top 12 and one in the finals.
“It’s great to see how the hard work we put in the practice room is paying off for our team and I’m excited for the weeks to come,” said Indians coach Nacho Franco.
Conor Trombetta (171) reached the finals and fell 4-3 to a grappler from Pasa Robles High School.
Cole Farley (215) placed sixth while heavyweight Charlie Schumacher took seventh for Napa.
Sophomore Tim Warren wrestled in the 112-pound division and placed in the top 12.
Napa High is scheduled to host the Fourth Annual King of the Valley Tournament on Jan. 12. The event will include Napa, Vintage, Justin-Siena and St. Helena.
