Spreading cheer via teen voices

Dear editor,

I recently returned from a great night of singing Christmas carols and spreading holiday cheer with a group of wonderful young adults. Yes, I am talking about teenagers between the ages of 13 and 16 on a Friday night, singing Christmas carols and collecting canned food for the less fortunate in Napa.
I want to thank you, as a parent of one of these teens, to the residents of Tokay, Pinot, Vintage and Cabernet streets, thank you for your generous donations of bags upon bags of canned food. This exhibit of community outreach taught the teens of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church that they are making a difference in so many lives.

So, when you are looking for something to do even on a Friday night, think of something that just might help the community and lift your spirits as well. Who says we can only ask during the holidays for a little community outreach?  Thank you as well to the other parents that provided hot cocoa and dessert treats. You know who you are.
