Rumor has it snow should fall today at elevations of 1,000 or lower in Napa County.

We received a series of photos Tuesday from Ron Sloan showing snow falling in Pope Valley, at 500 feet. He said he has not seen snow on his property in years.
What are you seeing in your area? Any snow for you Tuesday or today?

" At 8:30 pm last night, there was already ice forming on my gate. And this morning there was a light snow dusting on the hills of Sonoma. Wish I had driven my truck... "

" I took my kids, husband and dog to Angwin. It was beautiful up there. Coming down into the PUC campus area was like driving in Lake Tahoe. A Winter Wonderland "

" I woke up this morning to tons of snow in Angwin, blanketing everything white, with falling snow flakes. It looked like a Tahoe winter. Absolutely beautiful.

A big thanks to the road crews! They were out there early clearing and sanding the roads. "

" Kevin, global warming means warmer global average temperatures and warming seas which can dramatically change weather patterns, leading to more extreme weather.

Maybe you should buy a coastside home if you're so sure global warming is a hoax. I'll swim down to your home in 30 years and ask you if you still believe it is. "

" you might enjoy this NASA report coming out next week, Kevin....

Between 1.5 trillion and 2 trillion tons of ice in Greenland, Antarctica and Alaska has melted at an accelerating rate since 2003, according to NASA scientists, in the latest signs of what they say is global warming.
This image shows the changing rate of mass in mountain glaciers on the Gulf of Alaska.

This image shows the changing rate of mass in mountain glaciers on the Gulf of Alaska.

Using new satellite technology that measures changes in mass in mountain glaciers and ice sheets, NASA geophysicist Scott Luthcke concluded that the losses amounted to enough water to fill the Chesapeake Bay 21 times.

"The ice tells us in a very real way how the climate is changing," said Luthcke, who will present his findings this week at the American Geophysical Union conference in San Francisco, California.

NASA's Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment, or GRACE, mission uses two orbiting satellites to measure the "mass balance" of a glacier, or the net annual difference between ice accumulation and ice loss.

"A few degrees of change [in temperature] can increase the amount of mass loss, and that contributes to sea level rise and changes in ocean current," Luthcke said.

The data reflects findings from NASA colleague Jay Zwally, who uses different satellite technology to observe changing ice volume in Greenland, the Arctic and Antarctica.

In the past five years, Greenland has lost between 150 gigatons and 160 gigatons each year, (one gigaton equals one billion tons) or enough to raise global sea levels about .5 mm per year, said Zwally, who will also present his findings at the conference this week. "

And you say all this is because only Americans drive SUVs? "

" It snowed in Circle Oaks and it was beautiful to watch. The roads were as slippery as I would have thought. Even this morning, 121 to Napa wasn't slippery or icy. I could tell it didn' get as cold as the weather folks predicted it would but they are saying this morning that TONIGHT will be the coldest. It was 27 degrees on my digital thermometer at 0500 am. If you live in the area or you head the back way to Fairfield, please leave an extra ten or fifteen minutes early so you can slow down. When 121 gets icy, there are alot of bad accients and it is a very dangerous road. Slow down. be alert, and drive safely. If you do encounter black ice or start slidding, do Not slam on your brakes. It only makes it worse. also alow greater following distances between drivers. "

" actually diehard I never said anything about SUVs ... just some more info for the global warming naysayers. "
