A free tax workshop is set for Thursday, at 5:30 p.m., is  being put on by Rich Jacobson and Warren Warner. It will be held at the John Muir Inn on Trower Street. Hors d’ oeuvres will be served. Seating is limited.

Topics to be discussed include: tax acts passed this year – ranging from tax extenders, AMT relief, mortgage debt relief, solar and wind energy; acquisition debt/home equity debt  — deductible interest on principal residence debt is governed by  rules that are important to gain tax benefits; business use of home — learn how and when you may deduct expenses of principal residence against business income; learn about taxability of Social Security benefits.
