Napa Valley College presents two instrumental concerts in December beginning with the North Bay Wind Ensemble performance Sunday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. The Napa Valley College Jazz Ensemble performs on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. in the Napa Valley College Theater. 

The North Bay Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Harry Cadelago, will performs “March of the Toys” from Victor Herbert’s operetta and “A Christmas Festival” by Leroy Anderson, which includes eight favorite Christmas carols.  Other musical selections include “Armenian Dances” by Alfred Reed, and “Porgy and Bess.”.  The Napa Valley College Jazz Band will joithe concert in the second half of the program.
Under the direction of William Gantt, the NVC Jazz Ensemble will perform tunes by Sammy Nestico, Mark Taylor, Lennie Niehaus, Gordon Goodwin and local musician Gordon Lustig including “The Way You Look Tonight,” “Lullaby of Birdland,” “What a Difference a Day Makes” and “Tangerine.”

Tickets for each concert are $12 for adults; $10 for students and seniors and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased from the box by calling  259-8077, Monday through Thursday 1-4:30 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door one hour prior to each performance. The theater is in building 1200 at 2277 Napa-Vallejo Highway.  Parking is free. Call 259-8077 for more information.
