Owyeong-Gresik wedding
Miss Courtney Brooke Owyeong and Mr. Sean Thomas Gresik were united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 30, at four o’clock in the afternoon, at an oceanside ceremony at Seagrove Park, in Del Mar.
The traditional double-ring ceremony was officiated by Fr. Joseph Highland. Music for the ceremony was provided by Caprice Strings Quartet. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner dance honoring Courtney and Sean at L’Auberge Del Mar Resort with music by Daniel Peterson. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s mother on the eve of the wedding at Sbicca Restaurant in Del Mar. The bride’s mother hosted a bridesmaids’ luncheon at the Jade Room at L’Auberge Del Mar Resort and both of the bride’s parents hosted a morning after brunch at Pacifica Del Mar Restaurant in Del Mar.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian and Terelyn Owyeong, of Napa. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Joseph Kennon of Longview, Texas, and the late William Joseph Kennon, and Mrs. Henry W. Owyeong and the late Henry W. Owyeong, of Napa. The groom is the son of Frank Gresik of La Quinta and Dr. Linda Gresik of Redondo Beach.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a strapless silk satin organza fitted gown that was fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and a lace bodice and a gathered chiffon chapel-length train. The bride chose an elbow-length petal veil for the wedding ceremony. The bride carried a handheld clutch of White South American Roses and White Phalaneopsis Orchids.
Jill Sinclair served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Julia Risso, Courtney Campbell, Sommer Woolley, Nancy Culjak and Melissa Wolfinger. Flower girls included Madison Yamamura, Kayla Wong and Alexis Wolfinger.
Ian Gresik, the groom’s brother, served as best man. Groomsmen included Paul Shields, Tony Wolfinger, Andy Williamson, Alik Laddon and Mike Burke. Ring bearers included Jordan Wong, Jeremy Wong and Ashton Yamamura.

Courtney attended San Diego State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science and her Master of Business Administration degree in Finance. Sean attended San Diego State University and received his Bachelor of Science in Finance.
The wedding festivities were captured on film by the Style Channel and are slated to be featured on the program “Who’s Wedding Is It Anyway?” in Winter 2008.
