Community Builders: Healthy Moms and Babies honors Kelly

For the Register

Brian Kelly, President & CEO of Charter Oak Bank, will be honored with Healthy Moms and Babies’ 2009 Making a Difference Award at the Fourth Annual Dreams Gala Dinner and Auction on Jan. 25. Established in 2005, the award recognizes an individual’s outstanding leadership and achievements in improving the health and welfare of families in Napa County. Through his participation on a broad range of non-profit boards and committees, Kelly has strengthened the Napa community and helped many organizations fulfill their mission to serve those in need.

“Well-known for his business acumen and leadership in the banking world, Brian is also an outstanding community leader, lending his time and tremendous expertise to a long list of organizations,” said Wendi Moore, chairperson for the gala. “His personal involvement is invaluable to the non-profit community. Through his vision and guidance, health, education and social services are being provided that may not otherwise be available to the residents of Napa.”

Healthy Moms and Babies, a non-profit organization, provides pregnancy care, education and support services to 750 underserved women in Napa County each year. Collaborating with hospitals, healthcare providers and community-based organizations, Healthy Moms and Babies improves the health of pregnant women, resulting in more full-term babies and fewer tax dollars spent on urgent and long-term care.
