Jesse Trinidad, right of Vallejo, was in the second group of shoppers in line outside the Office Depot in Napa at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, waiting for the store to open at 6 a.m. Friday. He was hoping to purchase a laptop computer and some peripherals for his family. He was in line at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday and figured the time spent in line was worthwhile for the deals available on electronic equipment. " The best gifts I've given have been the ones I've made myself. It seems like Christmas these days is more about shopping and flat screen HCTV's then anything else. "

" People are hoping for great deals to ease the pain of difficult financial situations; no one wants to have a meager Christmas. BUT...if none of us had been living beyond our means in the first place, would we be in this financial mess? I remember growing up when my parents had had a difficult year we would have a "socks and underwear" Christmas, and you know what? Just getting new things was great, it didn't matter what it was. "

" I wouldn't do it, but how do you know these folks aren't careful shoppers who buy within their means and have fun staking out a good buy? What if they're buying something nice for a relative and will have good stories to tell of the time they waited all night and scored a really great deal?
I don't think we have to judge people without knowing the full story. I think it would have been fun to share an adventure like this with my daddy! "
