Thanksgiving is around the corner ... what are you thankful for?

It has been my pleasure for most of my life to ramble up and down the state of California.

In the past weeks, much has been written about the high school funding for students from Pope Valley and Howell Mountain who choose to attend St. Helena High School.

Should Rep. Mike Thompson, D-St. Helena, become Secretary of the Interior, it would be an honor for Napa County.

Dear editor, With so many more of our fellow citizens using bicycles, it’s important to remember that bicycles have the same rights as cars.

Dear editor, I would like to add my congratulations to Mark Teeters, chosen as Teacher of the Year at the state level. Mark highly deserves this honor. His dedication and remarkable talents are prime examples for teachers throughout the state. A well-deserved honor for an honorable teacher.

Dear editor, This letter is in regards to the article “Small farm law draws controversy,” on Nov. 18. The proposed law to limit how many animals or vehicles can be allowed on small parcels is, in my eyes, a very punitive action.

Dear editor, I have read Ms. Elizabeth Born’s letter to the editor with great interest (“Thompson’s not the one,” Oct. 31). I would like to expound some more on her letter. True, the Mexican government will build a new port in Baja at Punta Colonet.

With the appointment of Christine Romer to head up his council of Economic Advisors, the key person to advise the President on economic policy, Obama has put in place an economic team that consists of centrists if not right of center policy makers. He has already put to rest the "socialist" criticism leveled continually by his Republican critics, but are they paying attention?

Would you ever eat Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant? Or is this a holiday that must be celebrated at home?

Do you start your holiday shopping early?

The race is over, Barack Obama will be the next president, so now is the time for the next question.
