Would you ever eat Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant? Or is this a holiday that must be celebrated at home?

Why or why not?

" I would love to try eating out for Thanksgiving, but it seems there aren't too many restuarants that are open or offer this. "

" For me, I have always ate at home. I think that this is a holiday that should be spent with great homemade food, and family/friends. I will never go out to a restaurant for Thanksgiving. "

" No.
Yes.
Family Holiday
Don't want to go to a resturaunt and pay $60 for a dollar sized piece of turkey, an ice cream scoop of potatoes and 3 green beans drizzled in an ounce of gravy.......
BECAUSE that is what our local "Fabulous" resturaunts will do! "

" I could just imagine the shock of my sibs and children if we announced we were going out for dinner for Thanksgiving lol

I know some families do that and well, that is their family tradition. Ours is baking a few days ahead of time, and rising early to get the turkey on so we can eat in the early afternoon...... then later in the evening, it's time for sandwiches, turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce sandwiches :) makes my family all smile "

" The thought of eating at a restaurant is very inviting, but not practical, cost-wise, and really, kinda sad.

I agree with sammy--leftovers are delicious!

Isn't Thanksgiving the one holiday where we don't have to buy anything really expensive, and we all get together to cook and laugh and eat, and it's a family and friend celebration, not a credit card celebration?

I like the old traditions. I think they're nice for kids--heck, for the whole family. "

" A few years ago, maybe seven or eight, we used to come to visit family in Napa (before we moved here), and in one ocassion they had an emergency and had to go out of town on Thanksgiving Day, but asked us to stay at their house as usual, so we did, but it was too late to make a Thanksgiving Dinner so we walked over to Yountville Town Hall and we had a really delicious and inexpensive (maybe free, I don't remember) dinner.

No leftovers was the worst part of it! "
