Street light for Caymus Street

Muriel Fagiani’s one-woman campaign for an additional street light on the 900-block of Caymus Street, opposite St. John’s Catholic Church, won over the city’s Traffic Advisory Committee on Thursday.

The committed voted to put an additional light mid-block, assuming that Pacific Gas & Electric, the owner of the pole, agrees.
Fagiani, who lives at 901 Caymus, said many people walk that block because of its proximity to St. John’s church and school. She also walks it late at night on her way back from city government meetings.

Many residential blocks are no better lighted, the committee said. The presence of the church and school justify making the 900 block of Caymus an exception to city policy, committee members said.
