Sad to see Eco-Organize go

Dear editor, it is with great sadness that I write this note to say farewell to Eco-Organize on Yajome Street. For the past year, Toni Renee has been a fixture in the community with her funky, cool shop trying to get Napans to think about reducing, reusing and recycling. Her shop is now closed so she can focus more on consulting, but her impact won’t be forgotten. Every time we use one of our “treasures” from Eco-Organize, we are fondly reminded of Toni and her many talents and efforts to make Napa more green and sustainable.

Thanks for everything; we’ll miss our regular visits and purchases.

" How hard is recycling and reading labels?

Four out of five businesses fail within 24-36 months of opening…..lasting just 12 months ought to tell you what the market is for eco-endeavors…..our the location… or both. "

" glenroy...this business was more like a "Thrift shop", where you could find items that others were either throwing away or items left over from the de-construction process. It was a place where these items were given another chance for usefulness rather than having them end up in the dumps. It was a nice idea and a fun place to shop. You could find many one of a kind things. If you've ever been to Urban Ore in Berkeley, it was a smaller version of that. Urban Ore is wildly successful and is a tremendous resource. So...it isn't just about reading labels and sorting. It was addressing the wasteful nature of our society and trying to re-purpose some of the "Stuff" that we collect and throw away repeatedly. "
