Trinity Prep claims playoff spot

Anthony Kersting scored the lone goal to lift Trinity Prep to a 1-0 boys soccer win over Lutheran of Elk Grove on Tuesday.

The win, at Justin-Siena’s Dodd Stadium, puts Trinity Prep into the Sac-Joaquin Section Division VII playoffs that begin Nov. 11.

Kersting’s tally came in the first half off an assist from Ty Lopez.

Alex Nelson pitched a shutout in goal. Dominic Lazzarro starred on defense.
