NoonJoin the NapaValleyRegister.com crew and that of Napa Valley TV for live Election Day coverage all day and night today.

A Live Election Blog kicks off at 11 a.m. online at NapaValleyRegister.com, with the three person crew of Register.com Multimedia Producer Dan Ross, local veteran election reporter Louisa Hufstader and Register.com Daily Napablogger writer Michael Haley firing out comments and answering questions on local and state races, along with the race for president.
The online coverage — including a national map to constantly update the race for president and updated local results when available — is going to go until well after the last local election numbers are released, most likely going on until the wee hours of Wednesday morning.

On the television side, Napa Valley TV’s crew has staff at various locations, plus a two person team in their studio to provide constant evening coverage of the local election races.
Napa Valley TV will have Louisa Hufstader at Yountville Town Hall — yep, she's blogging at NapaValleyRegister.com in between TV broadcasts — Jamie Miller at Napa City Hall, and Arty Reyes at American Canyon council chambers. Kari Ruel and Jerry Johnson will be at the Napa Valley TV studio's anchor desk.

Tune in to the television coverage on channels 28 starting at 8 p.m. and expected to run until about 11 p.m. The broadcast is also available on their Web site, napavalleytv.org.

" For Kevin and others, we are your local community access cable television station. We've been around for about 20 years and can be seen on Comcast cable channel 28 and on the web at www.napavalleytv.org. "

" On a positive note- the drive thru voting worked great today!! My hubby drove thru the fairgrounds spot and I went thru the downtown location. Super smoothe! "

" You actually employ Michael Haley on a regular basis for your newspaper????
I know that most of these people who log on to this stuff on a regular basis basis don't have real lives. ( I have just recently learned about this zombie underground) But now it makes more sense when I read the drivel that comes from Mr. Haley, aka Napablogger!
You must really be hurting to get people to write for you and/or participate in this anonymous attack media where most people don't have the guts to put their name on their pathetic comments. I do! "

" The turn out in Napa is high along with the rest of the country. I have never seen so much interest in an election. That bodes well for the future that people are caring enough to get informed and vote. "

Do you really consider Obama voters "informed"...??? Even the mainstream media (Tom Brokaw and Charlie Rose) is in the CYA mode by admitting that we know little about the man... "

" I've never understood why people want to brag about what they _don't_ know. Isn't it up to us to inform ourselves, instead of making a virtue of ignorance? There's been no lack of coverage of either candidate.

" Tom Witters is the campaign gofer for the most dishonest candidate ever to run for office in Napa County. His opinion counts for nothing. "

" Thom, eveyone knows who writes here regularly who I am, napablogger is Michael Haley, so I felt no need to change my handle. I wasn't trying to hide anything when I picked that handle, it was what I used on my blog site and I have been writing on the net for years where having a handle was the way to go.

Also, if you keep being so nice to people you may get them to agree with you. Good luck on that! "

" I thought maybe a "Napa Valley TV" might be covered in leather...

But seriously, folks - I agree with That's Me. Read lots of different news sources, check out the blogs, eschew obfuscation, resist the "everyone knows" syndrome, and stay informed. "

" I'm so tired of hearing people on the tv and radio say that we will have a new president tonight. The winner will not be the president until January. If either McCain or Obama were to win and die before they are innagurated they would never be considered president at any point in time. "
